Blog Beauty/Boots-Superdrug Haul UK | Spring 2013

I've shopped for makeup quite a bit in the past few weeks and so decided to collect everything up and show it to you all - everything was purchased by me, for me because I obviously have too little makeup and need tonnes more (scarcasm).

Why I decided to photograph everything in a mahusive selfridges bag I know not...

Soap and Glory
Kick Ass Concealer £10, Cheekmate Lip and Cheek Stain £8 and Smoulder Kohl Liner in Cocoa Bean £5

As a big fan of Soap and Glory bodycare and skincare, I wanted to try some of their makeup. I had not been impressed by the Sexy Mother Pucker lipgloss (smelled really bad and has a name as bad as some NARS things) or the mascara (did a little but nothing amazing). The fist thing I picked up was the Kick Ass Concealer that I'd heard good things about - so far I like it for under the eyes but it doesn't sit well on blemishes. The powder is a nice translucent one for under the eyes. The lip and cheek stain is average - it is like a gel and leaves dots on your cheeks but it dried out my lips crazily. The smoulder kohl is good and lasts on my tightline.

e.l.f.

Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal £1.50, Eyeshadow Brush £1.50, Mineral Eyeshadow in What's Your Name? £3.50, Blush in Gotta Glow and Berry Merry £3.75
When e.l.f. had a 50% off code going on my mother and I made an order and I bought two more studio line blushes as they are amazing, another eyeshadow brush as these are my favourites, a liquid highlight that is a great dupe for benefit's highbeam and an eyeshadow in an amazing mauve colour that looks gorgeous on its own with black eyeliner (face of the day with that look?).

Maybelline

Colour Tattoos in Eternal Gold, On and On Bronze and Light in Purple £4.99
I love the colour tattoos and these shades were amazing additions to my collection. Eternal Gold is an amazing yellow-toned gold that looks so pretty on its own, On and On Bronze is a cult favourite that I can't believe I didn't own and Light in Purple is a gorgeous blue with purple and silver glitter.

Revlon

Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Cherish £7.99, Lip Butters in Cupcake and Juicy Papaya £7.99, Photoready BB Cream in Light 10 £9.99, Photoready Primer £11.99
I have been loving Revlon recently and there have been some amazing offers that I could not resist. The lip products are all just so lovely and balmy, the primer makes my pores appear so much smaller and smoothes my skin beautifully and the bb cream is just gorgeous (look out for a review soon).

Collection

Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair, Extreme Felt tip Liners in Black and Purple £2.99, Ultimate Fix Compact Foundation £4.99
Needing a new lasting perfection concealer, I looked at the collection stand and found a few interesting pieces - the liners are really rich and last ages and the compact foundation is a little patchy on its own but layered over a bb cream looks amazing.

Other Brands

NYX Jumbo Pencil in Rust £2.99, Miss Sporty Morning Baby BB Cream £3.49, Sleek Face Form Kit £9.99, Rimmel Scandaleyes in Nude £3.99
The BB Cream from Miss Sporty smells lovely but provides the coverage of a moisturiser (not even a tinted one!). I wanted the face contour kit from sleek but could not find it so opted for the same thing but including a blush - a really useful product. The liner was a lust for ages but I finally bought it and love it. I thought NYX was only available online in the UK but I found some bits and bobs from them in a cheap shop near me along with some W7 makeup and Nivea makeup (who knew Nivea did cosmetics?).

I hope you enjoyed my haul and subscribe to this bog using the thingingmabbobsy to the right - see you soon!

Empties/Products I've Used Up | March 2013

Sorry I've not posted in a while - I've had a maths challenge and have been sick so 'scuse the lack of posts. Anyway, I've renamed my blog and to kick things off I have an empties post.

Now, I haven't used all of this up just this month but it's been used up gradually and there won't be another one of these for a few months.

OhMyGosh
Wet Wipes

Primark deep cleansing wipes - :) they don't irritate my eyes and remove most of my makeup before cleansing.
Superdrug Cucumber Wipe - good too but I like the primark ones better as they are cheaper.
Baby wipes - an essential for removing swatches (and for babies, obviously)x

Hair (+ body)

Timotei Shimmer Shine Shampoo - a nice, non-irritating shampoo, just average.
Timotei Shimmer Shine Conditioner - average, again; moisturised a bit but left a greasy feel.
John Frieda Sheer Blode Go Blonder Conditioner - didn't really do much to enhance my blonde, another average joe.
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Hair Mask - the duo says it all - moisturising, smoothing and smelt amazeballs.
Batiste - dry shampoo - love this stuff for 2nd/3rd day hair.
Dove deodorant - dove is my deodorant go-to but I like the green tea one better.

 Skincare

Boots Cucumber Toner - cooling and refreshing but not holy grail
Garnier Simply Essentials Toner - a nice everyday toner when on offer.
Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing Cleanser - a lazy-person's cleanser for when I'm too tired to cleanse properly.
Superdrug Tea Tree Gel Cleanser - a good bathtime cleanser for pot-scrub.
Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser - not really for me - removed my makeup but I still felt like I needed to use a gel cleanser.
St Ives Apricot Scrub - been using this for ages, my holy grail scrub.
M+S ingredients coconut scrub - good smelling, not very abrasive.
Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturiser - a good moisturiser that I've repurchased.
Superdrug Tea Tree Moisturiser - average but not worth £2.99 as the pump doesn't pick up product at the bottom of the bottle.
No7 Protect and Perfect Serum - A really smoothing serum that leaves my skin soft and bouncy!
Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Moisturiser - a nice everyday moisturiser but nothing amazing plus my mother hates the smell (she thinks that it smells sweaty!)

Makeup and Other Stuff

Boots Conditioning Nail Polish Remover - a good nail polish remover, nothing outstanding though
e.l.f makeup mist and set - a repurchased product and a lovely finishing spray
Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Neutral - a staple in my collection and a powder I always fall back on
Collection Longer Lash Mascara - an alright mascara but I still use the waterproof for natural lashes

Monthly Favourites | February 2013

I know I started this post the same last month but... TWO MONTHS!!! I still cannot believe it's 2013 - hopefully my March faves won't start the same. Let's jump into my favourite for February as there's a few...

Make-Up

First is a blush from Fashionista - I bought this palette at the Marble Arch Superdrug as the Fashionista couter at mine has disappeared with the re-vamp! My favourite colour is London: an orange-pink mineralised colour with a slight shimmer that's so pretty!

Next is another blush - the e.l.f. HD blush in Headliner. It's a beautiful pink that's so easy to apply.

Then my recently reviewed MUA Undress Your Skin Hightlighter is something I've been wearing constantly with nude eyes and lips.

One of my first makeup purchases was my Witch BB Cream and I've been using it under foundation as a sort-of moisturiser/tint and it's worked a treat!

This 2true concealer is a great alternative to the Collection one as it's a lot less cakey and provides the same coverage.

The MUA brow kit is a dream come true for brow application on.the.go! The tweezers and brush aren't so bad either!

My Natural Collection obsession has increased with this duo in Mink/Sable as the colours are so nude and plain they do the trick at defining without darkening!

My black diego dalla palma eyeliner is a must for the tightline as it's so long-wearing and a dark, rick black.

My beloved MUA mega volume mascara is almost dead so I will be having to say goodbye soon - such a shame for such an excellent mascara!

Last is my e.l.f lip stain in birthday suit - a perfect bright pink lip for Spring!

     Skincare and Bodycare

Soap and Glory's Heel Genius has been the perfect hand cream this month - it nourishes and leaves my dry hands soft and smooth.

This yes to cucumbers eye gel is so soothing and cooling on my tired eyes in the morning and it doesn't irritate them!

The nivea lip butters have been given a lot of bad reviews recently but I really like them - I have Raspberry Rosé, Caramel Cream and Vanilla and Macademia - yum! I keep one on my dressing table, one in my bag and one in my blazer for school and they're great tough-up lip balms for on.the.go!

Book

Gred Behrendt is a genius! This book always makes me laugh and I'm sure it has taught me lots! A fabby read!

Coming soon... beauty haul and empties!
