July Favourites 2014 | Beauty and Random

It's the end of another month and I'm already halfway through summer (*sheds tear*). I don't have too many favourites for July but enough to warrant a read...

Summer Road Trip Playlist

Also appropriate for aeroplane journeys and train/tube rides. I love music and these are my top 10 songs that are perfect for travelling!

All I need's a little love in my life | Travelling//Airport OOTD

jumpsuit - new look // cardigan - h&m // trainers - primark // backpack - primark
// necklace - h&m //

This is what I wore on the plane to Athens to keep me warmer at 6am in the UK but keep me cool when I got off the plane into 30 degree heat. Jumpsuits are a travelling essential for me for comfort and ease. This one was around £25 and the backpack is another travel essential as in airports you need your hands free to hold travel documents etc.

What do you wear travelling?

Mini Summer Weekend Haul 2014 | Primark, H&M, Boots

Since I've been unable to shop for the past couple of Saturdays (and my family always do late lunch on Sundays) I was glad to get out and do a bit of shopping today! This is a bit of a 'bonus' post but I wanted to share my finds so here you go...

Latest In Beauty: The Glamour Beauty Edit Summer 2014 Edition Review

I recently made a cheeky little purchase from Latest in Beauty, a company that sells limited-edition beauty boxes for around £15 with a much higher product value. This Glamour Beauty Edit is similar to the one I bought around Christmas time however this one is Summer themed. It cost £16.95 including P&P and the value of the box was over £86 so an amazing deal. The boxes are still available here however they do tend to sell out quickly so be sure to pick yours up soon!

The shipping was wonderful also - I ordered on Wednesday night and it got to me on Monday so amazing for free, right!?

First item is something I already own in the 'light' shade but it's the Rimmel BB Instant Tan in 'medium' - I haven't heard great things about this shade but we'll give it a go and if it doesn't work I'll pass it onto my darker-skinned friend.

Next up is the Hawaiian Tropic Ultra Radiance SPF30 - I've only swatched this so far but the shimmer seems very fine and just adds a nice glow - will be great for pool days during my summer break!

I'm quite intrigued by this Toni&Guy Volume Plumping Whip - sounds fun, no? You apparently apply it to towel-dried hair and then blow dry, but I'll get back to you on this one.

Second most exciting thing in this box are the Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes. These fibre mascra coat thingamabobs have so much hype around them and I cannot wait to give these a go - expect a review when I'm back from Athens!

Most exciting thing is the Illamasqua NEW Glamore Lipstick in Cherub - these shades are released TODAY (10th July) and I feel like I've had a proper sneak peek at the collection - this is the one thing I'e actually tried and the formula is smooth and creamy, the colour is very opaque and a peachy-coral-brown mix (very me!).

Bit disappointed by the Crabtree and Evelyn Nail Polish in Apple - it's a basic red with a shimmer to it making it good for toes. It's not all that special to be frank, just a simple polish with an okay brush and needs a few coats.

I have been lusting after a Bourjois Cream Blush since they were released so I can't wait to give this Nude Velvet shade a try - looks and sounds promising!

Velvotan Mitt - nothing too special but an essential for summer and I'm always thankful for a spare mitt.

Finally, a cleansing oil. I confessed my conversion in this post and have never looked back in terms of makeup removal. This DHC Deep Cleansing Oil has had some amazingly positive reviews so here's hoping it doesn't break me out and lives up to the hype.

Will you order this box?

Getting to Know Me TAG // Take 2

(I don't live in Oxted I just needed a picture and I took this when visiting a friend there...)

I know I've done sooo many tags like this before but who cares? Probably you, but I love reading these posts so I hope you do to and let's try and stomp out the rambling now... here we go!

1. Do you have a middle name?
Yep, it's Sophie. It's funny actually that I'm Elizabeth Sophie and my friend is Sophie Elizabeth. Then my Doppelgänger (or I'm her's... confuzzled!) is called Catherine Elizabeth... weird!

2.What was your favourite subject at school?
If you have read my 'about me' page you'll know that I'm a serious maths geek - I love maths so much! But I also love drama (even though I've dropped it for GCSE), English, History, RS and Latin (dropped that too...).

3.Whats your favourite drink?
I'm a devout diet lemonade drinker but I do love a chocolate milkshake if it's on offer. Mostly i just drink water though... I know, I'm boring.

4.Whats your favourite song at the moment?
OMG so many! I love American Authors' 'Best Day of My Life' and Matt Woods' 'ToyGun' and 'Give Yourself Away'.

5.What would you name your children?
Hope I don't scare the boyf off but I want a son named after his father and then I don't really know. Maybe Andrew to keep my great-grandfather's surname (but he was nicknamed 'Andy') and Florence for a girl as I know a couple of Flo-s and they are the nicest people ever.

6.Do you participate in any sports?
Ha, you being serious? No, I do dance weekly and tennis as well as rounders, and I watch a lot of sports... enough for my mother to call me 'cricket widow'.

7.Whats your favourite book?
Mal Peet's Life: An Exploded Diagram

8.Whats your favourite colour?
I have mentioned this sooo many times but it's bright acid highlighter green//yellow//chartreuse.

9.Whats your favourite animal?
I love scotty dogs (westies) and tortoises and giraffes. My mate Harry owns three tortoises and a westie - he thinks it's the only reason I'm friends with him lol but I love Tina, Bonnie and Clyde!

10.Whats your favourite perfume?
Daisy Eau so Fresh by Marc Jacobs for summer and anything vanilla for winter.

11.Whats your favourite time of the year?
This changes all the time, but my birthday and Christmas are in the winter//autumn turnover so that time, plus I get to wear boots which make me taller!

12.Have you been out of the country?
Yep, very many times - furthest being Japan.

13.Do you speak any other languages?
I speak basic Spanish and Italian, and will continue Italian to iGCSE level.

14.Do you have any siblings?
Nope, I am an only child, which is why I will never have only one child: I loved my childhood but my parents, both having brothers, don't really understand the lonliness and missed opportunities that come with being an only child... dahm that got deep.

15.Whats your favourite shop?
 Primark or Dorothy Perkins.

16.Whats your favourite food?
Indian food. Saag Aloo is my kryptonite.

17.Whats your favourite movie?
Ooh hard one: I think it's either Anastasia (the cartoon) or The Impossible. But Love Actually is my EPIC favourite forever, it's like my baby.

18.Whats your favourite TV show?
Some Girls when it's on or any historical dramas (ie Pillars of the Earth//World Without End//The White Queen)

19.What phone do you have?
An HTC Windows Phone 8S (veryy good, love it though snapchat app is awful! 6Snap is better).

20.How tall are you?
I'm about 5"5 and a half, may seem tallish but my friends are all about 5"7/8 so I'm the shortie!

21.Any pets?
 Sadly nil.

22.Any kids?
Ha, I'm 14. Not even possible.

23.If you weren't you, would you be your friend?
Probably not, haha, no I would be I'm nice and friendly and interesting (I think...)

24.Whats the first thing you notice about someone?
Whether they smile a lot... seems weird but my 'rest-face' is a smile and I think it's what attracts people to me (ie my friend and I are sitting on a bench and most people ask me directions//for pens//etc and not her because she has the chronic-bitch-face - I did, I fight it back and smile lightly).

25.Whats your eye colour?
 I have blue/grey eyes.

26.Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings, I shit myself at scary movies!

27.Favourite smells?
 I love salty caramel//citrus//mango smells.

28.Do you have any special talents?
I have crazy titchy hands (not really a talent lol) and I am everyone's personal Shazam (meaning I know the artist and name of most every song) but I'm better than that because I can quote lyrics back too - AWESOME TALENT! (also very sad ;D)

29.Where were you born?
South London, England, UK, Europe, Earth, Milky Way, Our Universe

30.What are your hobbies?
I like watching sport (as previously mentioned), social networking, watching movies, reading, eating, baking (brownies which never go right) and writing this little blog!

Answer these Qs and link me to your blogs!!!

What's In My Summer Holiday Travel Beauty//Toiletries//Skincare//Makeup Bag(s)? | ATHENS 2014

I am off to Greece in less than a week and so have compiled a load of packing posts to go up before and while I'm away (and after, if my friend agrees to take OOTD pics ;D). I am super excited, and beauty packing is my favourite part so I'll share that first...

I'm using this red hanging dotty bag from Debenhams (similar) which has two large clear compartments, a smal zipper pocket on the back and another at the top which folds in. It's very durable and wipe-clean so good for spillages etc.

The main compartments are where the magic lives...

The bottom pocket contains all my shower//body products. I have the Umberto Gianni Dazzle Shine shampoo and conditioner, the Champneys Lime scrub, Soap and Glory Clean, Girls bodywash (all in miniature), my Mitchum deodorants, body butter decanted, Nivea Oil SPF, Boots aftersun and a sachet of Head and Shoulders shampoo and Nuxe eye cream. My razor will also go in here.

Top section contains skincare. I have a Boots spotty mirror, cotton pads and buds, my La Roche Posay facial SPF, Effaclar Duo+, Ren hot cloth cleanser, Simple toner, Clean and Clear moisturiser (both decanted), Pai scrub, Peptalash, Nuxe lip balm, muslin cloth and flannel.

I'm travelling with my school so I'm keeping makeup minimal - my RT buffing brush, Stila powder foundation, collection, 17 and maybelline concealers (because travel plays havoc on my skin), Rimmel primer (decanted), Max Factor cream blush and mascara, Gosh brow gel and lash curlers, along with a couple of foundation samples.

If you're thinking 'she's forgotten toothpaste//brush//powder!': do not fret! I have all my absolute essentials in my hand luggage just in case my checked bag becomes MIA. I have face wipes, blotting sheets, my 17 powder, kabuki brush, spoolie, toothbrush, toothpaste, miniature SPF, water spray, SPF lipbalm, perfume and chubby stick for lips in super strawberry.

Have I forgotten anything? I leave on saturday so if you think of anythink leave me a comment//email me at lizzielovesfudge@hotmail.co.uk//contact me via instagram @hi_lizziep//tweet me @ablushedblonde

MUA Matte £1 Lipsticks Review | Lilac Belle // Fawn Fancy // Peachy Keen // Wild Berry

I think you can predict the direction of a review by the number of shades someone owns of the product - considering these could be featured in a '4 or more' TAG (coming soon?) I can safely bet this is a good review.

These MUA lipsticks are the newer version of the original £1 line, except they're matte. There are 7 shades available, of which I own Lilac Belle, Peachy Keen, Fawn Fancy and Wild Berry. Wild Berry is quite dry on the lips but the others all take a creamier formula that goes on very opaque and smooth. They don't dry my lips out or cling to flakier patches but for best finish I would suggest a good scrub and balm post-application.

Fawn Fancy and Lilac Belle are newer shades. Fawn Fancy is a very Kylie Jenner-esque brown neutral nude with a subtle orangey undertone whereas Lilac Belle is a bright purple violet shade - I have a post in the works on 3 ways to wear this shade.

Have you tried any MUA £1 lipsticks?

June Favourites 2014 | Beauty and Random

Happy 'OMG it's actually like summer now!' month! Or, as some like to call it, July.... I've loved a few things, beauty and random, this past June so let's share, shall we?

First up are the Toni and Guy Shampoo and Conditioner for normal hair, which I received for Christmas. They're really basic but leave my hair clean and smelling fresh but not stripped, which I like - 1/3 off in Boots at the mo for £5 so I'll be picking up a backup set and minis for my holiday! A couple of body bits are the Champneys Lime Body Scrub which smells heavenly and makes the perfect pre-tan exfoliator, and the Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau so Fresh perfume, whcih is also an amazing scent. Then as my skin has been playing up a bit this month I've stripped back my skincare to my everyday balm and to clear out my pores I've been using the Yes to Tomatoes Cleanser with my No7 Brush which work great together, without leaving my skin dry or stripped. The Ren Rosa Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser makes for great makeup removal and will be coming to Athens with me - I don't want to risk a balm melting in the heat so this should compensate.

Makeup, and only a few things to talk about. My base has been mostly just concealer as I wanted to let my skin breathe but on days when I wanted a bit more coverage I've used the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum which sticks around due to it being less tacky than others and it matches my skintone perfectly.  The elf blush and bronzer cream have been looking gorgeous when applied with a RT expert face brush as I have been loving contoured cheeks throughout June. Eyes have been all Revolution - the Iconic 3 (*cough* naked 3 *cough*) is so beautiful and the colours work so well on blue eyes. Kylie Jenner-inspired lips have been my thing and the MUA Fawn Fancy lipstick with the Natural Collection Fondant gloss is an accurate combo for miss KJ.

Last, but by no means least, are the random favourites: I purchased this frame in Tiger with the intention of using it for family pictures, however the lack of photo paper (and coloured ink... DADDY!!!) made me choose to print this F Scott Fitzgerald quote from The Great Gatesby. It's become one of my favourite quotes, and it reads, 'And in the end, we were all just humans, drunk on the idea that love, only love, could heal our brokenness' which I love as it shows the vulnerabilty of humanity as a species but also the ideas that nobody is perfect and we're all searching for the same thing: love... *english A, come to LizBet!*. You know I love my sunnies, and Primark Wayferer-style Men's £1 sunnies are my favourites - I picked up this tortoiseshell pair and am in love - the lighter colour suits my fair complexion as it looks less harsh than the black. My Oyster Zip pass has been my saviour this month - buses and trams in the capital are free for me so all I have to do is pay trains and tubes (which are, sadly, what I use the most). I've had a maths lecture, many afternoons shopping and a few babysitting jobs to attend to so I've needed my pass to get me places and this adorable case from paperchase a couple of years ago has seen me through. This thin credit-card sized plastic thingamabob is actually a flashlight to use when I come in late from school (may or may not have forgotten my keys and had to stay in the library til 7 a few times...) or a babysitting job (or 'gig' as my friend calls it) and have to locate the lock to fit my key in//the doorbell//avoiding dog poop on the pavement - this little light is very bright and is virtually weightless. Defo recommend picking one of these up, my Grandad bought me mine from a garden centre.

Music favourites include: George Smith - his song 'Yes or No' is my new JAHM! OMG I love this guy, subscribe to his youtube, follow him on instagram @horehayyy and like his facebook page he's so kind and sweet and funny and argh that voice *Lizzie then collapses from die-hard fangirling*. The Vamps' new song Somebody to You has been my go-to morning rock-out, getting ready tune, and it describes my current mood perfectly. Then when I'm on my way home Tessa Violet - Just Right is all I want to hear, again it describes my feelings so well and is just so perfect. Then my always faves are Passion Pit and YM@6 just because...

Then movies//TV has been all around Glastonbury performances - who else loooved Ed Sheeran? Then the film Anastasia is always a love, but I've seen it about 6 times in the past fortnight as we've been studying the Russian Revolution and this is the perfect incorrect source. 'Other' favourites have been seeing friends who I hadn't seen since we used to do a maths course together a few months ago - I love you guys and missed y'all sooo much! Making a new friend has taken up a lot of my time (thinking about them, talking to them etc) and I have loved it, and can't wait to finally meet them this summer...

Speaking of summer, I break up for my holidays on the 11th then am off to Athens the next day so should be absent from social media from the 12th to about the 17th but posts should (hopefully) be scheduled - packing posts etc should be coming too.

What are your current favourites?
