Clarins 'Il Diritto di Provare' (The Right to Try) Set Review - Beauty in One Minute

I recently picked up this little set from Clarins in the TK Maxx store in Brighton - they had a few of the Italian trial sets in there which retail at 12Euros, but I paid £10 for mine which I know is a little more but I thought even for that it was a good deal, and offered me 'the right to try' (which is the literal translation).

It contains the Instant Eye Makeup Remover, the BB Cream in Medium, the Wonder Perfect Mascara in Black and the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 05 Candy Shimmer. I must admit I did only pick this up for the lipgloss as they cost £18 in Boots (I regret not picking up the other sets with the different shades in now!).

Definitely look out for these sets as they're a good way to introduce yourself to the brand but also try some new makeup bits and bobs.

Bronzey-Taupe High-Street Eyeshadow Addict

(No7 Sheer Brown, L'Oreal Tender Caramel, Maybelline Iced Fudged, Revolution Promised Land, No7 Truffle)

Hi, I'm Liz and I'm a bronzey-taupe eyeshadow addict. And this isn't even my entire collection. I know, it's bad, but this is the kind of shade I wear every day as an one-colour wash all over my lid with nothing else (just a bit of mascara and liner) so I justify it.

for you, i'd leave it all | black boots ootd

tee - primark // leggings - h&m // boots - primark // bag - primark
// jacket - m&s // necklace - ? (really old) //

Ok, I broke my 'no black in summer' rule but really, who cares? I was shopping then out for a casual dinner so I wore my new super comfy heeled Chelsea boots from good ole' Primarni (which were a bargain at £15). I need every colour of these 'distressed' v neck tees from Primark too - they look great with everything and are so easy to wash (no ironing - result!). Didn't really need the houndstooth jacket but it never killed anyone to have an extra layer handy. Oh, and BTW these were taken outside my house, there was nowhere else so enjoy my front step - anyone else live at number 15?).

What have you been wearing recently?

Love, E X

Peachy-Pink Glosses for Summer

I've been neglecting my lipglosses recently forever. I own a lot, and I love the way they look but I just don't gravitate towards them, but this month I have been trying to use them and these three have been my favourites... surprise, surprise, they're all peachy pinks.

Current Summer Skincare Favourites

I've realised recently that I haven't spoken a lot about skincare outside of monthly favourites posts so I thought I might talk a little about my favourites.

The SPF Edit 2014 Featuring Nivea, La Roche Posay & Hawaiian Tropic

As you may be aware, I'm pretty pale, which means I have to apply a good sunscreen during these sunnier months. I'm going to give you the lowdown on the SPFs that have been preventing red shoulders and sunburnt skin.

one year later (where it all gets a bit personal)

Tonight marks the one year anniversary of the day when I had to change the number of grandparents on my 'about me' page. Tonight marks the anniversary of the day when I lost an inspirational, amazing person from my life. Tonight marks the anniversary of the day my great grandad lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.

What's In My Beach/Pool Bag 2014?

Now, living in London means I don't spend too much time at the beach but being a keen swimmer means I spend a lot of time at pools so this is what I keep in my pool bag (+ what I would take to the beach too).

My Wardrobe Tour//Organisation

Today is a bit of a random post but it's a wardrobe tour. A little note first which is I own a lot of clothes, and this isn't everything - I keep tees, shorts and some other clothing in drawers and then my more wintery clothing (read: jumpers and thicker dresses) is stored in my cupboard. I have no idea where the wardrobe is from, they were fitted with cupboards above but we removed the cupboards so now it's just a wardrobe. The brown boxes are from IKEA. Now onto the clothes...

Essence in the UK Haul (from Wilko)

I seriously wish my mother had photographed my face when I caught sight of the new Essence stand in a Wilko on a shopping trip near where my Grandma lives (they're few and far between in London unless you fancy a trip out into Fulham?). Apparently I "lit up like a box of matches" and I'm not surprised: Essence has only recently been released in the UK and although it's not the full line there's a good selection of products in Wilko stores (think Maybelline in a small Boots) and Wilko always have good offers on - I picked my bits up on a 3for2 deal, but the line is so cheap anyway! From what I could tell prices ranged from around £1 to £4 so similar to MUA.
