Beauty/Makeup/Boots Haul | January 2014 | UK Blog Beauty Haul

Okay, so I've done quite a bit of beauty shopping over the past week or so after Chritsmas, so I thought I'd show you what I've been buying... be warned, there's a lot here.

First up, some random bits - I needed new razors and these Wilkinson Sword ones were about £2 in Asda. Then I found Dr Bronners in TK Maxx; I picked up two scents in Rose (which my mum hates) and Citrus Orange.
Next up is some skincare from Boots and Superdrug.
After using the witch bb cream for a year or so, and knowing how well it keeps my skin clear, I decided to try the primer when repurchasing the bb cream. So far so good, but I'll have a review up soon.
Boots Botanics is one of my favourite skincare lines as they use natural ingredients and it's often on offer. During this 'up to half-off' sale, I bought the Organic Facial Oil, which smells kinda funky but is really helping my dry skin, the Ultra Calm Skin Relief Serum, which I heard about from A girl and a beauty blog, and repurchased the All Bright Toner, which has gaind HG status is my skincare routine.
Also from Boots was the Balmi Raspberry lip balm, which I have already reviewed here. Then from Superdrug I purchased the Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser; I've been out of hot cloth cleanser (or cream cleanser) for a while now so I thought I'd try this one as it was 1/2 off.

A bargain from poundland was the Stila Angel Light Powder Foundation refil pack. My mum uses this and loves it, so she bought about 5! I bought the one to try, and expectations are high!

From the Boots 1/2 price gifts sale, I bought this Soap and Glory Crazy Sexy Kohl Giftset for £9! It contains 5 full-size smoulder kohl liners in black, brown, blue, green and purple. It also contained 3 eyeshadows which were loose in pans in the plastic packaging. I put them in an empty elf quad and they fit well. The colours are pigmented and creamy, in the shades Dandy Plum, Aubersheen and Smokin'.
Stila had an amazing online sale, with about 70% off! I bought the Luxe Eyeshadow palette for my mum for £7.50 and the seeing stars eyeliner set for £6.25! The liners are pigmented and do not budge! It's love!

Then from my swap with LaurenRhiannon, she sent me three amazing items. First was the Seventeen Lip Crayon in the shade Knockout, a totally me shade in a bright berry pink - super moisturising and glossy. Next is the Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick in the shade 16, a shade that's completely out of my comfort zone but'll be perfect for S/S 2014. Lastly was a product I've been meaning to buy myself but never did, it's the Maybelline Eyeshadow in Iced Fudged, a brilliantly pigmented taupe colour. Thanks Lauren, these are all gorgeous products, you picked so well!

Last are some bits from No7 from my nan, as she got these in free gifts but won't use it so she gave it to me! Thanks Nana! The products were: Exceptional Definition Mascara – Black, Stay Perfect Lipstick – Classic Rose, Stay Perfect Eyeshadow – Black Gold, Stay Perfect Metallic Eyes Pencil – Blackest, Lash 360 Mascara – Black, Sheer Temptation Lipstick – Lovely, Stay Perfect Eyeshadow – Island Sea, Extreme Length Extend Mascara – Black, High Shine Lip Gloss – Whisper, Stay Perfect Eye Shadow – Sheer Brown (from Good Earth trio) & Stay Precise Felt Tip Eyeliner – Black

Whoa! A lot of makeup to try! You can expect reviews on some of these things shortly! Anything you want me to review sooner rather than later? Any requests?

Love, L X

PS elf haul coming on Friday so check back!

The New Thing: Beauty Bay The Collection | Beauty Bay Makeup Line

Okay, new release I just had to share. If you're as much as a beauty junkie as I am, you'll probably have at least heard of BeautyBay.com, one of the best free-delivery beauty sites that stocks Urban Decay, Stila and brands that are a little harder to get hold of, like China Glaze or Paul and Joe. However, I stumbled upon a new brand from Beauty Bay itself, named 'The Collection'.

The line itself isn't very large, but they have makeup, nails, accessories and hair tools. But, everything is super affordable (£4-£15) so I'm defo making an order soon. The most intriguing 'dupe' products for me are the three £15 each eyeshadow palettes, which from online pictures look very similar to the three NAKED palettes? New dupes? Plus they have two tangle-teezer-esque brushes for £5 and a beauty blender copy for £5!

On my hit list: Lip & Eye Primer £4, Nail Polish in Times Square £5, Detangling Brush Large £5

Will you be trying this line? What's on your hit list?

The Weekend Post #1: A "Seasonal Low"

Now the last turkey sandwich has been eaten and the presents are put away, the eggnog's all gone and the wrappings are recycled, I'm at a bit of a seasonal low. Or, as some would say, have 'The January Blues'.

I love Christmas, and although our's was a bit unconventional this year due to my uncle's accident and him being in hospital (no worries, he's going to be okay though may not walk for about 6 months!), we had a fabulous Christmas and my obsession was not dampened! But now the Christmas sales are pretty much over, it feels like I have nothing to look forward to.

I know, I know, first world problems, and I appreciate how hard we all work over Christmas. But I wish it would last longer!
Back to school on Wednesday, eh? See my friends, that'll be fun. Maths Mornings (extra mathematical fun!) begin on the 18th. Valentine's is always a great day at an all girl's school - lots of tears and laughs! And I'm counting down to Athens with my girlies in July! 2014 will be a good year, I just wish it would start already!

Anyone else feeling seasonally low? What are your 2014 plans?

Latest In Beauty | The Glamour Beauty Edit | Review

I literally squealed when this arrived! My Latest in Beauty Glamour Beauty Edit was meant to arrive before Christmas (as a present) and my mum ordered it late November, however it only arrived today (Dec 31st) with a lot of pushing! Great customer service, just not the best delivery! However, I'm super excited to have this box in my life and am waiting to trial a lot of new products!

Philip Kingsley One More Day Dry Shampoo 50ml | RRP £6.00 (50ml)
I'm a dry shampoo junkie and love Dove and Batiste from the high street so I'll see how this compares - I may save this travel size for a mini-break or holiday to make me feel extra fabulous!

Toni & Guy Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray 50ml | RRP £6.39 (250ml)
I'm not a big hairspray girl but I'll save this for an evening out to give it a go - hopefully no crunchy locks!

Maybelline Baby Lips Mint Fresh (full size) | RRP £2.99 (full size)
As a lover of baby lips, I was happy to receive a flavour (shade?) that I donit already own     + my mum stole my minty lip balm so it's good to have a spare!

Balance Me Radiance Face Oil 10ml | RRP £30.00 (30ml)
I have been wanting to try a face oil for a while now, so I'm really chuffed to receive this! I've heard amazing things, and have high expectations for this 100% natural product!

Benefit They're Real Mascara 30g | RRP £9.50 (30g)
A long-term favourite, I love They're Real and have seen this smaller size in Boots for £9.50! Will be saving this for mascara shortages!

Eyeko London Eyelash Curlers Limited Edition Blue Velvet (full size) | RRP £12.00 (full size)
These are gorgeous! I love the blue details in the silicone pads and handles - beautiful! I need a good pair of lash curlers and these ones seem pretty good, plus they come with two spare pads, so they should last me the next year or so!

HD Brows Eye and Brow Palette in Foxy (full size) | RRP £19.95 (full size)
I have been lusting after one of these palettes for a while - it's RRP is over the price of the box! Although if buying myself I would've gone for the Bombshell shade for blonde hair, my eyebrows are quite dark so I can work with this shade meant for brunettes! The colours are lovely and I can't wait to try this for a brows post coming soon!

Overall, I am really impressed with the contents of this box and would recommend heading over to the Latest in Beauty website and grabbing one while you still can!

The Latest in Beauty Glamour Box retails for £14.95 including shipping from latestinbeauty.com

Have you tried any of these products? Will you be ordering this box?
